What is comparative fault?

In Florida, we have something known as comparative fault. And what that really means is that when a jury is listening to all the evidence at a trial, they can divide the fault up in a pie chart. And so they could actually say, the plaintiff who's injured is 50% at fault and the other driver is 50% at fault and that means that you will only get 50% of the harm caused. So if the verdict is $100,000 you'll only get $50,000. So it's very important to call an experienced trial lawyer.
